How Do You Cook Pork Tenderloin?

The best way to maximise the flavour and juiciness of your fillet is to roast your pork in the oven. To do this, first, take your meat cut out of the fridge and leave to sit until it reaches room temperature. Preheat your oven to 200°C, and while you wait for it to warm up, season your pork liberally with salt, pepper, and other delicious fresh herbs and spices.

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over high heat and sear your pork tenderloin on all sides until a golden crust forms. Next, add your pork to a tray along with your favourite vegetables and place in the oven. Cook your pork until the internal temperature has reached 65°C (this takes about 20 minutes). Rest your pork before slicing and serving to your guests.

What Cut is the Pork Tenderloin?

Pork tenderloin comes from the loin muscle along the backbone. The impressive cylinder-shaped cut is long and narrow, boneless, incredibly lean, and deliciously tender. Be careful when cooking a pork tenderloin, as the thickness may make it easy to overcook.

What is the Difference Between Tenderloin and Pork Fillet?

There is no difference between pork tenderloin and pork fillet. They are both alternative names for the cut of pork that comes from the rear end of the loin, although ‘pork tenderloin’ is most commonly used.
